Roman camp

Just east of the Falkirk Wheel is the best-preserved section of the Antonine Wall ditch. The ditch has been preserved to almost its original dimensions, giving the best impression of how it will have looked in Roman times.

In an open field between the Union Canal and Tamfourhill Wood there is a temporary Roman camp which can only be seen from aerial photographs. This is an impression of how it might have looked.
