Ashley Terrace Boathouse (c) Stravaiging Around Scotland

This boathouse has been an iconic building on the Union Canal and a base for the Edinburgh Canal Society. ECS played an active part in keeping the canal open and ran boat trips for many years from Harrison Park. The boathouse used to be further west at Meggetland but it was dismantled and brought to this site in 1987.
